Grant Thornton Strategic Solutions is a leading specialist consultancy in South Africa and Africa with a Public Private Partnerships (PPP) /Project Finance focus.

We are currently the Lead Advisor for three National Treasury registered PPPs in South Africa. In addition we have undertaken diagnostic assessments of existing PPPs and have acted as subcontractors for a number of PPPs, offering financial modelling and tourism, hospitality and nature reserve market expertise.

Our PPP Unit is well supported by other Grant Thornton South Africa business units, including:

• Business Risk Services which has significant experience in internal audit and forensic assignments for major national, provincial and local government entities.
• Corporate Finance which has significant transaction support experience over a wide range of sectors.
• Audit assurance and Tax for accounting treatment and tax advice.

How we work
A significant component of any PPP Transaction Advisory assignment is the development of a feasibility study – our management consultants are feasibility experts. We have a profound understanding of developing sustainable business cases for projects, ranging from training centres, support facilities to education facilities such as universities and business schools, industrial estates, multi-use complexes, shopping centres, convention centres, stadia, residential estates, apartment complexes, hotels, resorts, nature reserves and lodges.

We have also developed business cases for precincts which included residential, commercial, retail and recreation / entertainment components. Thus our team is skilled in undertaking feasibility assignments or business case development assignments at various scales and of various types.
